Interior Design · Our Primary Craft

Vision, purpose
and elegance.

From a single landmark room to a full 8,000+ sq ft estate build, we take on interior design work across the Carolinas, Georgia, Tennessee, and select markets across the American South — Charleston, Charlotte, Asheville, Raleigh, Atlanta, Nashville, Savannah, Hilton Head, Kiawah, and further afield by arrangement.

Our ethos is the detail. Every piece is considered, every corner earns its place, and every home we design feels calm, purposeful, and quietly elegant — with a distinctly British sensibility.

We don't do run-of-the-mill. We do homes of scale, character, and quiet distinction.

We have great relationships with local builders and talented craftsmen across the Carolinas, and can advise on high-end suppliers to deliver your build — from architectural coordination through final styling.

How We Work Together

Three ways
to begin.

Every home is different — and the way we enter the work should match the moment you're in. Each track follows the same studio process, just at the right scope for the project in front of you.

Home-Staging · Real Estate & Events

Real estate
& at-home events.

For luxury listings. We stage signature residences, estate properties, and landmark listings across the Carolinas, Georgia, Tennessee, and the wider American South. Lived-in, considered, effortlessly beautiful — never overdone. We help buyers see themselves in a home of character without washing it out.

For at-home events. Dinner parties, engagement drinks, milestone evenings, and private celebrations — we dress the rooms and set the table. Linens, florals, lighting, and the finishing details guests actually remember. Your home, dressed for the occasion.

Our Style

Clean lines,
calm, considered.

Our style is clean lines, calm, spa-like spaces, with purposeful design to hide every-day items. Elegance and charm with a nod of character — without being over-powering or floral.

Textures, layers, interest through design. Rather than shouting through big patterns.

The reference points are English and deliberately short. Daylesford and Lady Bamford. The Wild Rabbit in Kingham. Soho Farmhouse out near Great Tew. 11 Bibury. And the Cotswold stone of Woodstock, Chipping Norton, Stow-on-the-Wold, Upper and Lower Slaughter, and Bibury — the market towns and villages that shaped the eye. Unhurried, layered, quietly English. That is the feeling we bring to every home.

The Studio

Danielle Wilkinson.

Danielle grew up in the Cotswolds — Bibury, Burford, the Cotswold stone villages of Gloucestershire — where houses felt like they had always been there. A layered calm, built through texture rather than pattern. That is the eye she brought with her to Greenville.

Where We Work

Across the
American South.

Based in Greenville, South Carolina. Working across the Carolinas, Georgia, and Tennessee — and further afield by arrangement.

Full-house and estate-class projects further afield are considered on a project-by-project basis.

From the Cotswolds · To the American South

Old England,
new home.

Bibury — described by William Morris as "the most beautiful village in England" — is where our story begins. The Cotswold stone cottages of Arlington Row, the River Coln winding through the village, the swans gliding across its waters: this is the world that shapes our eye.

And on the right is what that sensibility looks like, translated. Calm, layered, built through texture rather than pattern — not the village itself, but the feeling of it, brought home to a Greenville build.

A note from a client

Danielle designed our whole home. Every corner feels thought about, and it somehow feels both English and completely right for the Upstate.

What We Do

Four ways
we can help.

A design-build studio. Construction and interior design held in one hand. Staging and decor exist to support the work — and to give every home of scale across the American South a little bit more of England.

Common Questions

Frequently asked.

Who is the best interior designer in Greenville, SC for British or English-style homes?

Cotswold House Co., founded by Danielle Wilkinson, specializes in British-inspired interior design in Greenville, SC and across the Upstate. Danielle is originally from the Cotswolds, England, and brings classic British design sensibility — calm, layered, considered — to interior design projects throughout Upstate South Carolina.

Does Cotswold House Co. build custom homes?

Yes. Cotswold House Co. is a design-build studio. Full custom-home construction (6,000–12,000+ sq ft), whole-house renovations, and outbuildings are delivered by the same studio that designs the interiors. Builds are taken on across the Carolinas, Georgia, Tennessee, and the wider American South. See the design-build page for the full offering.

What is design-build, and why does Cotswold House Co. offer it?

Design-build means one studio holds responsibility for both the design and the construction of the home — no hand-off from designer to builder, no detail lost between trades. The same hand that draws the kitchen specifies the cabinetry, selects the trades, and is on site at hand-over. It is also the way English country houses have been built for centuries — by one hand, kept together.

What services does Cotswold House Co. offer?

Four services. Construction (Design-Build): full custom-home construction, whole-house renovations, and outbuildings — managed end-to-end. Interior Design: project-based rooms and renovations through to full-house design and hourly consultancy. Home-Staging: hand-selected decor and soft furnishings for signature residences, estate listings, and at-home events. Decor: hand-selected homewares and antiques sourced directly from the Cotswolds and across England, by enquiry.

Where is Cotswold House Co. located, and what areas do you serve?

Cotswold House Co. is based in Greenville, South Carolina and serves the Upstate SC region — including Simpsonville, Greer, Travelers Rest, Spartanburg, Anderson, Easley, and Clemson. Full-house interior design projects can extend across the Carolinas by arrangement.

How do you work with interior design clients?

We work three ways. Project — a specific room or renovation. Full House Build — end-to-end custom home design including coordination with local builders and craftsmen. Hourly — consultancy for space planning, sourcing, or a trusted second opinion. Every engagement starts with a discovery conversation.

What is the design style of Cotswold House Co.?

Clean lines, calm, spa-like spaces, with purposeful design that hides every-day items. Elegance and charm with a nod of character — never over-powering or floral. Texture, layer, and interest built through design rather than big patterns. Style references: Daylesford, Lady Bamford, The Wild Rabbit, Soho Farmhouse, and 11 Bibury.

Do you offer home staging in Greenville for real estate listings?

Yes. We stage residential real estate listings across Greenville and the Upstate with a considered selection of decor and soft furnishings. Our staging is calm and lived-in — it helps buyers imagine the home as their own without feeling generic or overdone.

Can you design a custom new-build home?

Yes. We provide end-to-end interior design for new-build custom homes up to 8,000 sq ft — including architectural coordination, finish and material specification, lighting, furniture, and final styling. We have long-standing relationships with local builders, craftsmen, and high-end suppliers across the Upstate.

Who is the founder, Danielle Wilkinson?

Danielle Wilkinson is the founder and lead interior designer of Cotswold House Co. Originally from the Cotswolds, England, Danielle moved to Greenville, South Carolina and now brings classic British interior design to the Upstate. Her eye is shaped by the Cotswold stone villages of Gloucestershire — Bibury, Burford, and the surrounding Cotswolds countryside.

How is your interior design different from a typical Greenville designer?

Our focus is curated — rare finds and purposeful detail rather than mass-market pieces. Every item is hand-selected to tell a story. The aesthetic is classic British: calm, spa-like, layered through texture rather than pattern, with a nod of character. We also source decor directly from the Cotswolds and across England, so Upstate clients get pieces they wouldn't find elsewhere in SC.

How do I start a project?
